Alzheimer's

One of the most feared diseases in this country is one that no one seems to quite understand or know how to prevent. This disease is devastating not only to the patient, but to the family members also. I’m talking about Alzheimer’s. Even though patients and their families experience disbelief, anger, frustration, fear and depression, the more informed they are about this condition, the better they can cope. And as we’ll learn in this episode, dedicated caregivers, whether family members or local care agencies, can play a key role in helping individuals prolong their independence and improve their quality of life after a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. Special guests include Carla Culbertson, Resource Coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association and Lori Fernando, Director of the Alzheimer’s Unit at P.A. Peterson Center for Health.
