Dietrich Bonhoeffer

One of the most sickening & horrible humans in history is Adolph Hitler. The Nazi regime and the Holocaust claimed an estimated 11 million lives. 6 million were Jews. 1.5 million children. In addition to Jews, Hitler targeted homosexuals, communists and other political dissidents, gypsies, Slavs, Jehovah's witnesses, Protestant and Catholic priests, blacks, the mentally and physically disabled, and others. How was it possible for all of these people to be killed under the regime of one man? Why didn’t somebody stop Hitler? There are many reasons which we discuss, but there are also martyrs who did try to stop Hitler and we’re going to learn about one of these men today. Our special guest is Keith Clements, former general secretary of the European Conference of Churches in Geneva and well as an author of many books on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the Lutheran pastor who was hanged in a concentration camp after failed assassination attempts on Adolf Hitler.
