Addiction

Today, we live in a world where people constantly want more of everything. More food to eat, clothes to wear, money, possessions, pleasure & satisfaction. And we’re taught by society that we can have all of this. However, adding more & more of these things never seems to bring happiness. In fact, it seems to lead to just the opposite. Many people get trapped in an endless cycle of wanting more, and physically & mentally needing more. They become addicted.

In this episode of All around Rockford, we meet Steve Curington, Founder of Reformers Unanimous & Ben Burks, the National Director. Reformers Unanimous is a local, Christian-based, 12-step recovery program dedicated to helping people overcome their addictions. In the program, we discuss the most common addictions, causes & treatments. We talk about how a person really knows if someone they love is addicted, how to successfully rid oneself of an addiction and prevent relapses, and the immense feelings of happiness and freedom after recovery.
