Pet Adoption

Many times when people hear the word companion they think of their best friend, and for many people, their best friend is their beloved pet. Pets are protectors, they provide unconditional love, and can even reduce depression and cure loneliness. To many people, pets are an integral part of the family. And they love to give and receive affection.

Unfortunately, these days, millions of pets are starving for the chance to know love. And even more sadly, millions are abused, neglected, homeless and killed on the streets or euthanized by animal shelters because of over-population. Unfortunately, there are just too many pets in this world and not enough loving homes. In fact, many pets are dropped off at animal shelters simply because they are no longer wanted by their families because they’re too much work, too noisy, inconvenient, they’re no longer cute, and so forth.

In this episode of All around Rockford, we meet Nancy Watson, Office Manager at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary who says the Arc is dedicated to saving, rehabilitating and finding loving homes for as many animals as they can as soon as possible. By watching, you will learn some easy ways that you can help save lives and eliminate suffering by adopting your pet from a shelter or rescue group rather than purchasing it from a pet store or breeder and reducing pet population by having your pet immediately spayed or neutered.
