Racial Prejudice

When you walk down the street, do you say hello to every person you meet including those with a different skin color? If you work with the public, do you have the tendency to first serve those people with your skin color? Do you joke around with your friends and use derogatory names for those different from you? It is amazing that this happens so often even though so many people say they are not prejudice.

This episode of All Around Rockford is part of a series of programs on Racial Prejudice. We talk about what is prejudice, how and why it occurs, and what we can do to eliminate it and make a positive difference in the community.

Special guests include Wilma Powell, publisher of the Jabez Times, Juanita Garcia, the first outreach worker for LaVoz Latina and Bob Griffin, Executive Director of Rockford Renewal Ministries.
