Wildlife Rehabilitation

When you see an injured bird or animal on the street or in your yard, what do you do? Perhaps a bird has hit your window and broken its wing or a raccoon has been hit by a car, but is obviously still alive. Most of us just let the animal suffer or put it out of its misery because we don’t know what else to do. We aren’t trained to treat injured, wild animals. However, there are people and non-profits which do rehabilitate wild animals and are literally life-savers. On this episode of AAR, we meet Karen Herdklotz director of Hoo Haven, Officer Steve Beltram from the Department of Natural Resources and some feathery, furry and scaly friends!
