Elm Ave., Loves Park

churches, and schools to participate in a parade. TV51 was happy to be there

but the crowd found ways to stay warm!
Breakfast
November 8th was the date for a breakfast
hosted by Lifescapes Community Services celebrating the many volunteers that
help make Rockford a great
place to serve. Tom Gilkey of Rockford was nominated by the TV51 staff
as being a great volunteer for TV51. Tom is pictured here with TV51’s
Manager Assistant, Barb Seaworth at the breakfast held at Giovanni’s
Restaurant. If you want to be a part of volunteering for TV51, please

Light
up the Parks Parade 2006

Each year
the Loves and Machesney Park Chamber of Commerce host a festive “Light
up the Parks Parade”. TV51 joined in with holiday cheer
by being wrapped up like a present. Colorful entries of all shapes
and sizes joined in. TV51 received positive feedback while on the
parade route.
TV51's Anniversary Fundraising Banquet 2006
TV51 held
its 6th anniversary banquet on Sept. 28, 2006 at Sam’s
Ristorante in Rockford. Nearly 300 people attended, over 100 silent
auction items were bid on, and about $20,000 was raised. Jodi Beach
and Jim McDowell performed for the entire hors d’oeuvre hour, Quynnetta
Sanders, local finalist from this year’s “Inspiration Sensation,” performed
her very own song, and Michelle Williams (of the famous pop group, Destiny’s
Child) brought the evening to an end by performing songs from her gospel
album. During the dinner, Jerry Rose, Holly Swanson, and Pastor
Keith Manley spoke about the difference TLN is making in the community.
Amanda
Torp-Pederson from First Evangelical Free Church Wins the "Church
Challenge!"
With over half the audience votes, Amanda takes home a trophy and wins
a recording session at the Upper Room Studio, and an interview and
the airing of her song on WGSL Radio 91. Runner up was Heidi Putnam.
We'd like to thank all of the bands and musicians who performed at The
Family Station this year. You sounded terrific and the venue would literally
be nothing without you. We'd also like to thank Ryan Rydell and Turning
Point who graciously donated our sound system and stage and agreed to
provide the equipment next year! Ryan and his father, Dave, also donated
their time all weekend to help run the sound booth. We'd like to thank
First Assembly for loaning us their spot light, and Marvin Koch for picking
up and donating a couple of extra lights for us at the last minute. We'd
also like to thank our audience who stayed with us even despite the rain
and our volunteers who helped out at the booth. Lastly, we'd like to
thank the folks at On the Waterfront for working with us and allowing
us to set up this venue every year. Without all of you, The Family Station
couldn't exist.
